Our Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The chapel is located in St. Stephens Church but St. Francis DeSales Church is our support parish. Together we are called The Roman Catholic Community of Geneva, NY. We have over 200 adorers but we would love to have 150 more. Two people within every hour would be ideal.

All are welcome and encouraged to visit Our Lord anytime.
Visit for 10 minutes or an hour - the Lord welcomes all.

Our chapel has been opened around the clock since March 1, 1995. We have a few hours that are open and we pray that they be filled soon. Can you come and spend an hour with Our Lord? Although you can come at any hour you wish, following are the hours that we need filled:

"Could you not watch one hour with Me?"

The Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel had its seventh anniversary March 1, 2002.  That is a total of 413,952 hours spent by those who are committed to at least one hour a week or more in the chapel, not counting those who drop in for a short visit. Please drop in and say hello to Jesus and seriously think of signing up for an hour a week to honor Our Lord. What a wonderful gift to give to Him who loves us unconditionally. Thank you to all the present adorers who have been so faithful. God bless you all!

Matthew 11:28-30

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION THOUGHTS

Some parishioners have asked "What is Eucharistic Adoration all about. Explain it for us." We hope the following helps a little. The Body of Christ is placed in a glass holder called a Monstrance and set on an altar in a holy place for people to come and adore the physical presence of Our Lord.

During this visit, people start to grow in the spiritual awareness of God, their own soul and eternal life. Our eternal spirit is made up of memories, feelings, emotions, love, compassion, joy, happiness, peace and much more. We develop our spirit with all these things that science cannot measure but we know we have.

When we spend one hour a day or a week with God, He helps us to see our life and our relationships with everything and everyone a little differently. We call this help from God "Grace" when spiritual changes are occurring that cannot be measured or we call them "Miracles" when physical things happen that we cannot explain how they happened.

Our whole religion is built on Faith, Hope and Love. During a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration we grow in our awareness of these attributes and our awareness of God's presence in our life. This is what God meant when He said "Seek and you shall find". We need to spend time seeking the Presence of God and the Grace he has waiting for us. Each day of our lives we are building "Eternal" memories and feelings.

How people spend their hour:

• Some come and talk to God

• Some come and pray the rosary

• Some come and meditate on scripture

• Some come and cry their hearts out to God

• Some come to sit and just be with the Lord

• Some come to contemplate the life and sufferings of Jesus

• Some come to pray for healing for themselves or others

• Some come and leave their tears and problems for God

• Some come and beg for God's mercy in their life

• All come to have a more intimate relationship with God

What happens to people who spend time with Our Lord:

• Some experience a new awareness of God's Presence

• Some experience burdens lifted

• Some experience help in overcoming addictions

• Some experience physical healing

• Some experience healing of marriages and families

• Some experience forgiveness of past sins

• Some experience healing of friendships

• Some experience the gift of tears and healing

• Some experience the peace of silence in this busy world

• All experience some unexplainable grace in their life

Evangelization

Perpetual Adoration is affirmation of our faith. Through this constant vigil of prayer, we give witness to our belief that God is truly dwelling with His people.

Perpetual Adoration is a message in itself of the importance of coming to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Perpetual Adoration is making the Good Shepherd available to His people with the constant miracles of His grace and love. Perpetual Adoration is letting the Good Shepherd work with His people all the time! St. Paul says that, "Faith comes through hearing, and how are they to hear unless there is someone to preach?" And Pope John Paul II is now calling the whole people of God to preach:

We need to respond to the appeal of Pope John Paul II and evangelize. The laity need to learn to evangelize each other and go out into the parish.

The Pope said this is the age for Eucharistic Evangelization and he called upon every parish to have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, because he said that this is what will bring about God’s Kingdom on earth and everlasting peace to all mankind.
